Parents, ask your children about their Explorer Passports
Explorer Passports will be delivered to schools on Friday, May 18. The Passports give children free admission to parks and attractions in Prince William County. Start off this Saturday at the HCHY EXPO at Pfitzner Stadium, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. View map of activities and schedule of events.

Student Placement 2012-2013
During the coming weeks, classroom teachers, resource teachers, school counselors and the administrative team will be involved in placing your child in a class for the 2012-2013 school year. This is a decision that is taken seriously and with much thought. It is our goal that together, as a community, we will create the best possible learning environment for every child. If you would like to provide input regarding your child's unique learning needs we welcome your input following the outline provided in the letter sent home to parents on May 14-15, 2012. The deadline for parent letters to be submitted is May 23. Please read the letter outlining our process before composing your thoughts. A copy of the letter can be found on the Principal's Page. Thank you for partnering with us as we look ahead to a new school year.

The SOL testing schedule has been posted. Please make every effort to ensure that your student is well rested and has eaten a good breakfast prior to testing. 3rd Annual Race for the Future Set
On your Mark! Get set! Go!
Buckland Mills is proud to announce that the 3rd Annual Race for the Future is set for Saturday, June 9. We even have our own webpage with all the details. Registration has started, and all participants registering prior to May 18 will receive a T-shirt with their registration fee. There is something for everyone, so whether you want to bring out the stroller for a jog or just walk with friends, come on and join us. The One Mile Fun Run is $15 and the 5K Race is $25. 5th Grade Promotion Ceremony
Buckland Mills Elementary invites you to attend our 5th Grade Promotion Ceremony on Wednesday, June 13 at 6:00pm. The ceremony will take place in the school gym. All 5th grade students, their families, and friends are invited. In the coming weeks, additional details will be sent home with all 5th graders.

School Registration
Students K-5 may be registered for school throughout the school year. New Kindergarten registration usually begins in the April prior to the new school year. Details will be posted when registration dates are set.
